In the pursuit of perfection, iKamper has perfected everything big and small to make the roof tent the easiest to pitch, while also being sturdy.
Other roof tents are constructed with polyester and materials that create condensation and discomfort. The tent fabric on the Skycamp is made of breathable, water-repellent cotton fabric with a polyester blend. To keep water out, all zippers are waterproof, and the tent comes with a rain cover for a completely waterproof roof. The thick, high-quality fabric is also much quieter when it’s windy.

Two models
We have the Skycamp 2.0. The tent has 4.5 square meters of floor space and can accommodate a family of 4 or plenty of room for 3 adults. The floor is 210 x 218 cm. A large annex is available. See video of the tent further down.
We also have the Skycamp Mini. It can accommodate two adults. The floor is 210 x 130 cm.

Terms and tips - Roof Tent Rental Oslo
Conditions: No animals can be in the tent, but animals in the annex are okay. No smoking in the tent. Spraying perfume, deodorant and other things is done outside the tent, not inside.
Bring your own duvet and pillow, or sleeping bag and pillow.
You will receive great instructions when you pick up the roof tent. Anyway: It is easy to put up and take down.
Free extras
Anyone who has slept in a tent knows that it can get hot. That’s why you get a fan (with lamp option) that you can hang from the ceiling. The fan is charged via USB. Under the mattresses we have placed expensive carpet tiles to eliminate condensation. You also get a shelf system to hang under the floor (next to the car) to store shoes or other things.
Roof rack
Your roof rack can have up to 4 cm high x 9 cm wide roof bars. The distance between the bars must be at least 75 cm (or 55 with Skycamp Mini).
Van or high car
Many vans have wide roofs, and therefore need extra thick roof bars to better withstand the roof load. A regular car uses two bars. Many vans should have more than two. Measure the height and width of the roof bars before booking (up to 4 cm high bars and 9 cm wide).
The vehicle registration document for the car states how much roof load the car can have, and as long as the permitted roof load is 75 kg or more, it will be legal to drive with the roof tent. Most cars have a permitted roof load of 75 – 100 kg. This is the weight the roof is safety-certified for in an emergency braking situation, and it can tolerate much more. After all, car roofs are built to withstand rollovers without the driver being crushed flat.
Annex
The annex fits the Skycamp and is compatible with cars that have a height of up to 210 cm from the ground to the roof bars. It takes about 5-10 minutes to set up the first time. The annex is attached to the ground with tent pegs (both pegs and tent poles are included)

You can borrow one of the books below (if available). There you will find tips and information about free camping, RV parking and campsites. The books make the trip and planning much easier. The books also have QR codes, so you get the directions straight to your mobile phone. Or you can buy the books from the author.

The roof tent also fits very tall cars. Even a Landcruiser won’t have to pull out the entire telescopic ladder. But installing the tent is difficult here, due to the height of the roof tent lift. If the car is taller than 190 centimeters, please contact us.

Yes, the mattress is 4.6 centimeters polyfoam.
Most people sleep comfortably in the roof tent. Some side sleepers find the mattress too thin. In that case, it may be a good idea to bring an extra sleeping pad.
It’s about like a regular tent, with better ventilation and indoor climate. In low temperatures I prefer an extra sleeping pad, reindeer skin or wool blanket.
